Welcome to the YOUTH SITE of the Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC)!

About...
On this site GNRC youth share with you the inspiring projects and activities they are developing in their own countries. From Latin America to Africa and South Asia, passing through Europe, Israel and the Arab States, GNRC youth are actively contributing to translating the vision and mission of GNRC into concrete actions.
GNRC youth are young people between 16 and 24 actively involved in the work of the GNRC in their respective countries. Through regular meetings and activities, youth from different beliefs, faith or spiritual traditions are given the opportunity to learn from one another and work together towards a common goal. The youth are themselves members of the faith-based or religious institutions, grassroots organisations, local NGOs or youth-led organisations that are part of the GNRC in their countries; there are also young people who are part of the GNRC as individuals of faith and good will who are committed to joining forces to uphold the rights and dignity of children everywhere.

Projects...
The types of projects GNRC youth are involved in depends from country to country according to the challenges faced in their respective communities. Some of the topics addressed in their work include: violence against children and young people, racism and discrimination, addictions, HIV/AIDS stigma, poverty and exclusion. In many countries GNRC youth have become strong advocates for GNRC’s ethics education programme: Learning to Live Together. An Intercultural and Interfaith Programme for Ethics Education, developed jointly by Arigatou International and the GNRC in 2008, in close collaboration with UNICEF and UNESCO.

Another major focus of the work by GNRC youth is the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children. Celebrated around Children’s Day on 20th November, young people from around the GNRC globally sum efforts to mobilize for the rights of children. Awareness-raising and thematic campaigns, social and educational projects, interfaith prayers…GNRC youth take part in this Day through its deep belief in the power of people cming together to pray and join forces to act for the full realization of the rights of the child.
Driven by its conviction of the essential role young people play in bringing about transformation in their own lives and communities, the Global Network of Religions for Children provides the framework where these youth can make their voices heard and become agents of social change. Children, young people and adults all work together as members of the GNRC to actively promote the message of peace and mutual understanding in their countries. Their work is supported by the respective GNRC National Coordinators and the GNRC Regional Coordinators. The GNRC Youth Coordinator facilitates the effective participation of young people in the network worldwide, and coordinates their initiatives and activities at international level.
